Estate Planning and Probate/Trust Administration

Estate Planning

Estate planning provides you with a framework to communicate your wishes should you become incapacitated or deceased. Your estate is essentially your plan to stave off unnecessary taxes, deflect family disputes as well as having a responsible management system for your resources. These tools deploy your personal decisions that include your healthcare, burial/cremation arrangements, wealth distribution and management. There are several documents utilized in structuring a comprehensive estate plan.

Will
A will contains your instructions for the distribution of your property upon your death. This document ensures that your beneficiaries receive what you want them to have instead of the courts making decisions based on statutes.
Trusts
There are a variety of trusts available that function to support an individual's wishes such as a charitable remainder trust, life insurance trust, living trust, special needs trust, and educational trusts.
Living Will
This type of legal advance directive is utilized to instruct medical professionals regarding your decisions about your expectations regarding life-saving medical treatment and/or intervention should you be unable to communicate your wishes.
Durable Power of Attorney
A durable power of attorney designates a person you have chosen to act on your behalf in either financial and/or medical decisions and will last beyond your incapacitation.

If you are a business owner or professional, it is important to devise a plan that shields your personal and business assets from liability. Estate Planning requires the ability to network resources proactively to meet your objectives. I will work closely with you to create a comprehensive plan to facilitate the accumulation, preservation, and transfer of your wealth.
